Luke Bible Study
Having worked through several Navigators Bible Studies and read several NavPress books, I expected my first LifeChange study - Luke - to be good. On the whole I was not disappointed. The book is organized well and the chapter lengths are manageable. It approaches the book in an inductive method, similar to Precept Upon Precept studies, and for that matter, most other Navigators Bible studies. The weakest point of the book is the seemingly inevitable "dumb question" (or two) per chapter; one asking for an answer that is clearly not found in the passage in question. The strongest points of the book are: (1) the unobtrusive way in which they insert poignant insights from various commentaries (and done minimally, unlike a study Bible); (2) the super annotated reading list in the back of the book on Bible study guides in general, but especially for further study on Luke.
The best practical commentary on Luke I've seen so far.
This is a great resource for preparing sermons on Luke, or even for just reading along while you read Luke in your own home. It's easy to read, and gives valuable insights. I'm glad I bought it.
